We're Engaged!

Yay!
Cesar proposed in July and we're now planning at Nov 7, 2015 wedding. It seems so far away but everyone says it'll be here before we know it! The weather should be nice, hopefully in the 50s or 60s -although that may seem chilly to the California folks ;) but at least no one will be hot and uncomfortable!
Please check out our wedding website on theknot.com. I promise to update it more often than I update this blog!
The ceremony will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Church and reception at Heritage Hall. To all of you non-catholics, it will be a catholic ceremony -sorry! But if you want the free dinner, free booze and best-night-of-your-life party, you'll just have to sit through the never-ending ceremony :) The priest is a long-time family friend and will be sure to keep the ceremony fun and entertaining.
We'll reserve a block of rooms at Capital Plaza Hotel in Topeka -we can't do this until a year out. I cannot emphasize how close the hotel and reception venue are -literally a walk across a parking lot.

More wedding things to come...
On a side note -Cesar and I have both had some changes with our jobs. Cesar is still working for Midway Wholesale but he's recently moved to their headquarters in Topeka. Although the Lawrence store was closer to home, the Topeka store is going to offer him a lot more opportunity within the company. He's working at a bigger office and has been promoted to specialize in certain products.
I recently received an offer to work at the KU Alumni Association -which I gladly accepted. I'm assisting their marketing team with all things digital; email, website, event promotions, etc. While I enjoyed my previous position at DEG, working at the Alumni Association brings me closer to home and allows me to get my hands dirty in a variety of marketing projects. Plus, working on KU campus brings me back to the good 'ol days!
One Year Later

I can't believe I've been M.I.A. for so long! Over the past year our main focus has been our house. in the Summer of 2013 we moved into our home.
My parents purchased the home when I was in college and rented it to some girlfriends and myself. When we moved out, my brother and his friends moved in. Once they moved out, my parents offered the house to us, which we willingly took...with all it's renovation needs.

Long Time No See

I've been neglecting so let's play catch-up...
Earlier this year we visited Cesar's family in Los Angeles for Cesar's brother's wedding. The ceremony and reception were absolutely gorgeous and it's always nice to see Cesar's family.
Every year a church in Topeka puts on a Germanfest, in which my grandparents are heavily involved. I couldn't help but buy Cesar a t-shirt "100% German One Day a Year."
This summer Cesar's brother and friend came to Kansas for a visit.
We're moving! At the beginning of August Cesar and I will be moving out of our dinky little shack and into a full-grown house. We're so excited!
In a few short weeks we're headed back to Los Angeles for vacation. This time my parents and brother are going with us for a big ol' family vacation! Stay tuned...

I got a new job! I'm now working for DEG, a digital marketing agency in Overland Park, KS. So far I love it! I'm currently on the email team, creating email campaigns for clients.
Country boyz.

Snowed In
Tuesday, February 26, 2013
Since Thursday we've had more than a foot of snow here in Lawrence, KS, USA.
It all started early Thursday morning with about an inch of snow every hour.
We were packed in...literally. The view from our back window looked like a half-full sand sculpture.
On my drive to work, visibility was 0%. We couldn't see 50 feet in front of us.
The highway looked like a scene from The Walking Dead.
These sad trees.
Our sidewalks are beginning to resemble Canadian roads.
This belongs in a 2014 January calendar somewhere.
These cows look miserable.
This buffalo is not having it.
Mia got lost in the snow.
These snow mounds, just chillin' with the tree-tops.
